Portable Fire Extinguishers

In the first seconds, a portable fire extinguisher can put out an incipient fire. Used incorrectly, or on the wrong type of fire, it can make things worse. This course teaches workers to choose the right extinguisher, use it correctly and know when to evacuate instead.

Who it’s for

All employees, especially emergency response team members, fire watchers and evacuation wardens.

What the law says

The National Fire Code of Canada and NFPA 10 govern the selection, placement and inspection of portable fire extinguishers; in Quebec, the AOHS requires employers to inform and train workers.
