An overhead crane moves loads of several tonnes above people’s heads. The wrong sling, a skipped inspection or a misunderstood signal can be enough to cause a serious accident. This course teaches workers to operate an overhead crane safely, from the daily inspection to the end of the shift.

What the law says
In Quebec, the AOHS and the ROHS govern the use of lifting devices, and the AOHS guarantees the right to refuse dangerous work; CSA B167 covers the inspection, maintenance and operation of overhead cranes.
